Are you growing tired or bored or hungry or are you getting too emotionally invested. If the problem is any of these things, you should finish out as much of the game as you are required to and then call it quits for the night or at least until you’ve eaten dinner or taken a nap and a chill pill.
You should also learn to be aware of certain patterns in behavior. If, for example, you find that you are more distracted in a particular casino or on a particular website and that your distraction also leads to bad bets, you might want to find a new place to play. You should also pay attention to specific times of the day or night and decide if there are any where you happen to do better or worse at Texas Hold’em poker.
Being able to step back and assess what your gaming problems are, figuring out what is causing them, and then deciding the best way to correct that problem is your best bet for correcting a poor game. When it’s luck that’s kicking your butt, just be sure that you do have an ounce of control. The best way to do this is to set a gambling budget and refuse to go over it.
If you have already made budget allotments for a certain amount of money, then you won’t mind nearly as much or get so emotional if you lose it, and you’ll have a better chance of winning it back in the future.
